Bringing People Together to Build HOMES, COMMUNITIES, AND HOPE
Abilene Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit, nondenominational Christian housing ministry that invites people of all backgrounds, races, and religions to build together in partnership with local families to eliminate substandard housing from the city of Abilene. Thanks to the countless hours of service contributed by committed volunteers and the monetary and material donations provided by the Abilene community, 162 homes have been built or renovated to provide simple, decent shelter for local families. Habitat builds homes in partnership with hardworking, low-income families and the community. The homes are sold at no profit with zero-percent interest mortgages to partnering families, whom we have prepared to be successful homeowners.
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
We had a fantastic time at Cantastic Night at the fair, collecting a lot of aluminum cans to recycle, and a pick up truck full of unused product. Thanks Coca Cola and Taylor County Expo Center for supporting Habitat.
Heart's Barbecue, a local food truck operation, has been raising money for hurricane Harvey's Habitat victims, and allowed customers to sign this card to send well wishes to Houston area homeowners.
We’re so honored to be named the 2016 Social Services Nonprofit “Brand of the Year” by Harris Poll EquiTrend. This is the second year in a row Habitat has received this recognition
