The foundations have cured and the walls have been framed for two houses on Simmons St.  The walls will be raised this Saturday, and construction will be in full swing the rest of the summer. If you’re interested in volunteering, give Habitat a call!

Abilene Habitat welcomes our newest homeowner, Samantha Bagwell and her children Jaxon and Jessalyn!

Sam has worked incredibly hard and contributed so much to the Habitat program, and we are so proud of what she has done and what she and her family will do in the future.

We recently celebrated Samantha’s accomplishment and blessed her family in their new house and this new stage of life.  Take a look through the gallery to get a glimpse into a typical Habitat house blessing.

Thanks to Biketown for sponsoring and organizing the 2nd annual Hammer Down Du!

Participants of all ages showed up to run 1.8 miles, cycle 10 miles, and run 1.8 more. The youngest athlete was just 5 years old!  We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and we appreciate all those who participated in the race as well as those who volunteered to make this duathlon successful.

The funds raised by this event will go towards the costs of constructing houses in partnership with hardworking families in our community.
